The common search is whether Facebook will accept the style. Facebook treats a real name and a display name differently. This page explains that and does not promise acceptance.

How to use it

  1. Type the name. Cards update as you type.
  2. Pick a style that stays readable. “Changes the letters” means the text itself changed.
  3. Press Copy until it says Copied.
  4. Paste it in the app, and try a chat before you save it.

What Facebook usually keeps

The real-name field is strict: a personal name, usually without decorative symbols. A display name is sometimes wider, and the rules move when Facebook updates. Paste the style in the account before you rely on it.

Arabic, English, and French

A plain Arabic personal name can be a real name. Tatweel is often removed. Bold and italic Latin, including a French name such as Lea, survive more often in a bio than in the name field.

Long names

Every symbol counts. A long decorated name is cut or refused. Start with one word and one frame.

The username

The profile link is not the place for decoration. Latin letters, digits, and a dot. Details are on the usernames page.

FAQ

Do you guarantee Facebook will save it?

No. The policy changes. The test inside the account is the reference.

Why was my name refused?

Usually the field wants a real name, or the symbol is not allowed. Put the plain name in the field and the style in the bio.
