Chat apps put decoration on the display name, status, or group name, not usually on the account id.

How to use it

  1. Type the name. Cards update as you type.
  2. Pick a style that stays readable. “Changes the letters” means the text itself changed.
  3. Press Copy until it says Copied.
  4. Paste it in the app, and try a chat before you save it.

Snapchat

The display name accepts more symbols than the username. If saving fails, shorten the frame. Snapchat is not promised to keep every style.

WhatsApp

The name and About field accept decorated text on many versions. A contact name on someone else’s phone may cut symbols. This page has nothing to do with modified WhatsApp apps.

Telegram

The display name and bio are wide. The @username stays Latin. Messages accept decoration because they are ordinary text.

Discord

The display name and server name accept symbols. The numeric id and username follow Discord’s own rules.

Twitter and contact names

A Twitter display name is wider than the handle. In contacts, some phones show the symbol and some replace it with a box. Try it on your device.
